The National Glass Association and Glass Association of North America have entered into an agreement to merge into a single group, both associations announced Tuesday.

NGA is a $7 million-revenue association based in Vienna, Va. GANA is a $1.2 million-revenue group based in Topeka, Kan. Both organizations will operate as separate entities until either late 2017 or early 2018.

"The combination of our associations will unify our industry, giving stronger voice to our advocacy and industry standards efforts, our technical resources and many other initiatives to ensure the continued use of glass in buildings the world over," said Doug Schilling, president of GANA's board of directors.

Executive Vice President Bill Yanek led GANA until last year when he left to become CEO of the $5 million-revenue Professional Retail Store Maintenance Association. The association lists two staff on its website.
